Five sectors, five protagonists, five stories to portray a dynamic, creative and resilient Italy.

The webseries, available at the www.ideasitaly.com website, is composed of five documentary-portraits dedicared to different creative and productive sectors. Its objective: to depict stories, facets and experiences of Italy’s most innovative, virtuous and dynamic aspects to an international public.

The project aims to reflect on the leading themes of contemporary debates, specifically looking at the great ethical challenges of the future: environment, innovation, common goods – all issues today’s Italy has a lot to say about. Each story points the spotlight on Italy’s vast resources when it comes to manufacturing, culture, tourism, and the environment.

Five ideas, all emblematic in their creative, success-oriented and innovative drive to present the excellence of the contemporary Italian scene to a global audience.

Arts and Heritage: Gianluca D’Incà Levis, creator of Dolomiti Contemporanee, carries out an experimental project on the juncture between contemporary art, recovery of industrail spaces and regeneration of mountainous environments.

In the video, Gianluca D’Incà Levis speaks about the vision and approach which characterise DC in its relationship with the themes of cultural responsibility and the regeneration of heritage and landscape, through contemporary art and the experimental hubs activated inside large, crucial sites which must be reconsidered and given new function: among them are the former Eni Village of Corte di Cadore, the Vajont area, the Italia Ski Jump of Cortina d’Ampezzo, linked to the Milan-Cortina Olympics of 2026.

Arts and Heritage: Gianluca D’Incà Levis, creator of Dolomiti Contemporanee, carries out an experimental project on the juncture between contemporary art, recovery of industrail spaces and regeneration of mountainous environments.

Dolomiti Contemporanee takes part in Resilient Communities, the Italian Pavilion of the Venice Biennale of Architecture 2021 at the Arsenal. We will bring our vision, the themes of territorial regeneration and heritage, experimental practices, strategies and networks related to reuse and our idea of ​​a non-trivial and pernicious mountain.

Resilient Communities is the name of the italian pavilion, curated by alessandro melis, at the next Biennale of Architecture 2021. At the center of the exhibition, in all its drama, the issue of climate change and the demanding challenges facing the world of architecture will be addressed.

On Wednesday November 18th, 2020, Dolomiti Contemporanee takes part in the online conference promoted by the Courmayeur Mont Blanc Foundation alpi partecipate. montagne in mostra (Participated alps. Mountains on display).

The speech by G. D’incà Levis, ideator and curator of dolomiti contemporanee, is titled Dolomiti Contemporanee, a creative reactivation strategy for heritage and territories.
the meeting is set for 5:30 PM on wednesday november 18th.

The conference focuses on the mountain environment as a place of cultural involvement. the workshop-like nature of the alps eases the cultural approaches of modernity, and the conference, with a new formula, designed to be enjoyed at a distance, proposes a few examples of them.

Three meetings spread out over three different evenings exploring, respectively, the regenerative actions of artistic installations and temporary exhibits in some symbolic locations inside the Dolomites, a cultural device meant for the civic participation inside a huge fort in the alto adige area and a contemporary art museum at the heart of the grisons.

They are places found in the alpine region, and they are characterised by a strong identity ‒ despite their location relative to major cities ‒ in which architecture takes on the role of an important instrument, useful to create a debate.

The widespread perception, during this complex period of human history, is that the mountain is a safe place from a health standpoint, as it allows for easy distancing.

A different audience ‒ typically used to frequenting other destinations ‒ and demanding from a cultural point of view as well, could then look at the alps as a way to search for new stimulation and enrichment.

The pictures are from this year’s main active hubs: Borca, Casso, Forni di Sopra, Twocalls.

During the following survey, Francesco Antoniol, an archivist, stumbled upon the fertile entropic mass.
And, immediately, an idea came to light: we would involve a group of archivists, and organize a Summer-school in Borca, a class in which to start the tidying-up process, as well as the systematic archiviation and conservation of the recovered materials.

A few months later, the Archim – Archivists in Movement association, came to the Village, where, from the 18th to the 24th of July, this workshop, which involved about a dozen people, coming from all over Italy, was carried out inside the scope of the Residency program.
The archivists were housed in the permanent tents of the camping ground, and they have lived inside the Village, working non-stop for more than a week in the Colonia, and rebuilding an archive of over seventy linear meters, made up of hundreds of paperwork bundles and thousands of indexed documents. Some of them came back again, after, to keep up this precious work, which continues to move forward.

The documents, put back in order and systematically archived, can already be consulted. Architects, students, archivists, researchers, and historians interested in the study and deeper analysis of aspects linked to the history of the Village, are already making use of this precious capital. During the next few weeks, the complete list of the available documentation will be put on-line, thanks to a database created together with Regesta.exe, an open source, xDams, easy to consult multimedia description platform.

During the Open-studio of Saturday December the 10th, 2016, the Progettoborca Archive was officially presented to the public. A a post concerning the event will be uploaded soon.
